Since Haley and I have so much time to update our blog, here is what has transpired since May 13:

1. Haley and I went to New York City at the end of May - had a blast

2. Not sure what happened in June.... - Working, playing with Finley and Grayson, and saying "No" to Grayson every 5 minutes

3. Went to the beach for the 4th of July - had fun

4. Since the 4th we have had the boys for 3 weeks straight .... weekends are long, kinda fun but just trying to entertain both kids is a job in it self

5. Finley has gone back to not sleeping through the night and he keeps Haley up - she is tired

6. Fin's teeth are hurting him - he got his two bottom teeth in already but others must be piercing through

7. Grayson has diaherra of the mouth

8. Took Fin to doctor and he weighs 19.8 lbs

and that is about all.....August will be a busy month. My dad is coming in, Haley and I are headed to Hot Springs, and Haley is having a baby shower for Megan and Paul at the house. Should be fun. Before we know it Starkville will be our weekend home!!!!

Haley and I are sorry for not posting anything lately.... we have been quite busy. Since last post well here is the skinny: Grayson has had 2 ear infections, Hand Foot and Mouth Disease, and a serious attitude. Finley is getting huge. He likes smiling and sleeping. Haley has a larger territory for her job and recently got the title of District Trainer for her... district. Her back, neck, and shoulders have been bothering her for the past two weeks..... went as far as a MRI but everything is negative. So, it is PT for her now... She isnt a happy camper so please keep her in your prayers. I, Patrick, am fine. Switched mortgage companies and I am now working for Mortgage Strategies in Madison. So if you are looking to purchase, refinance, or just talk about MSU please call me.

Haley is leaving for Dallas next week and I have the kids for 5 days!!! Should be interesting. Please keep me in your prayers

At 11:06pm it is quiet in the Davis household. Fin, Grayson, Har-Har (Harley), and mama are all asleep....

A Baby Story

This is the story of how Finley Banks Davis came into this world. It all started last Tuesday. I woke up around 6:30 AM and my stomach was hurting so bad. It was constant pain, and it did not feel like contractions where you have some relief in between each one. Finally, around 2:30 I called the doctor, and they told me to come in to get checked out. When I got there they hooked me up to the monitors, and I was having contrations about 4 minutes apart so sent me over to the hospital to once again stop labor. After giving me a lot of fluids and medicine they got the contractions to be about 10 minutes apart that night. My doctor showed up around 10 PM that night, and he said he would do the C-section right then if I had dilated anymore. I had not so he made me stay overnight. The next morning he decided to send me home even though I was having 1-2 contractions an hour, and the hour before I have to take my magnesium I was having 4-5 an hour. So, back home I went for more bedrest. Well, Thursday all day long I could not even get up to go to the bathroom because I was having contractions again. When I got up I had to stay bent over because it hurt that bad. I didn't call the doctor because I had an appointment at 8:30 the next morning anyway. Friday morning Patrick drove me to the doctor just in case. When they hooked me up to the monitors my contractions were 2 minutes apart, and I had dilated to 2cm. Dr. Wolfe then informed me that we would be having the baby that day. Off we went to the hospital to wait until he could come do my C-section. We arrived around 10:30 AM, and they did all the pre-op stuff to me. My water actually broke on its own at 12:20. I was wheeled into surgery at 1:00 PM, and Finley was here by 1:22 PM. He was absolutely perfect, and even though he was 4 weeks early he does not have a single thing wrong with him. No NICU this time!!! It is so weird to have a normal baby that just sleeps and eats all the time. I do not have to stay awake 24/7 like we did with Grayson to make sure he doesn't choke on his on spit-up. I guess God decided to bless us with a healthy baby this time after all of the hospital stays and surgery we had with Grayson.
Finley had his well baby check up on Wednesday and he got an A+, and I had my incision check on Wednesday too. It has not gotten infected like it did last time so I guess I got an A+ too!

Fin was born at 1:22pm today. He weighed 7.8 lbs and 19.5 inches long. Both he and mom are doing great!

35 Weeks and Counting

I went to the doctor on Monday. Still no change. 1 cm dilated and baby is head down. Finley's heartbeat was in the 180s and 190s which concerned me, but Dr. Wolfe said he was just a hyper baby. I don't know if we can handle another child more hyper than Grayson. Dr. Wolfe said I just had to keep the baby in unitl 36 weeks so I have decided that we will have the baby next Monday (just kidding). He will stay in until at least 38 weeks unless something happens before then. Dr. Wolfe said he had no clue when the baby would be here because I am the most unpredictable patient he has. Here is to another week on bedrest.

Went to the doctor today, and no changes at all. He was glad. Said to just give him two more weeks please. I know he needs to stay in longer, but I am so tired of bed rest. I have been doing this for 4 weeks now. Here's to another week in the bed.

I had a migraine last night, and I threw up all night long. This led to me having contractions once again. I went to the doctor this morning, and the contractions were just irritability from the throwing up. I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced so they sent me home until Monday. We will see what happens then.

Bedrest is driving me crazy. It has been 2 1/2 weeks so far. I have been reading a lot of books, and I joined Netflix. I went to the doctor Monday. He didn't check me for changes in dilation. Finley has been head down since the first time he checked me around 28 weeks. He is just hanging out. Doctor said he weighs at least 4 pounds if not more. He is a good size baby. I will be 33 weeks on Saturday, and they hope to keep him in there until 35 or 36 weeks. I still get my weekly shots of progesterone, and I am now on terbutaline for the contractions. The terbutaline is crazy medicine. It makes you not sleep, have hot flashes, superfast heartbeat, shaky, and out of breath. At least it only has to be taken every 6 hours. Hope everyone has a happy new years. We will be sitting at home since I have not been allowed to travel during the holidays.

Baby Update

Well, I woke up Wednesday at 3am throwing up, and it continued all day. The doctor sent me over to the hospital around 4pm. Once I got there I was contracting pretty regulary so I got some stadol, phenegran, and 3 shots of something else to stop contractions. They finally stopped at 1am on Thursday, but started up again during the morning hours. They got to where they were 7 minutes apart so not I take mag-ox every six hours. That seems to have stopped them for now. I also received a steroid shot to develop Finley's lungs, and I go by tomorrow to get a second round. I guess it is bed rest again. I am almost 31 weeks, and they hope to keep him in until 37 weeks. We'll see what happens.

Sorry we haven't posted in such a long time. We have been busy at the Davis household. We will be adding another boy to our family in February 2009. His name is Finley. Everything is going great with the pregnancy. I was so sick until week 18, and that is one reason I haven't been able to post anything. I had to have a Reglan pump so I could get medicine 24/7.
Grayson had his 1 year birthday parties. He had one at the MSU tailgate, and one at my parent's house. I will post pics later.

Haley and I had an adventure for our 5th Anniversary! First we took off from Jackson, drove to Orange Beach, then to B'Ham. Spent the night in B'Ham. Got up and drove to Indianapolis and then on to Chicago. Spent a week in Chicago and then drove to St. Louis. Spent two nights in St. Louis and then drove home. 2100 miles. Well worth the trip, well worth spending time with my woman, well deserved vacation. Here are some of the pics.. enjoy

Grayson's Nine Month Check-Up

Grayson went for his 9 month check-up on Monday. He weighed 23 lbs. 9oz. (90th percentile). He was 29 inches long (don't know the percentile), and his head was 46cm (75th percentile). I was worried about how much he eats, but Dr. Story said to feed him whatever he wants. He would eat all day if I did that. Grayson has 5 teeth now, and he is trying to crawl. He can get up on all fours, but the doctor said he is having a hard time with it because he is so big.
Patrick and I had a great time in Chicago. We went to see Wicked, Second City Comedy Tour, Chicago Cubs game, and a St. Louis Cardinals game. It was all fabulous. I will post pics whenever Patrick uploads them on the computer.

Sorry we haven't posted in a long time. Work has been crazy, and we have been super busy. My dad did have a heart attack a few weeks ago while he was turkey hunting, but he is doing great now. So, we went to Meridian the past few weekends to visit with him. Grayson is getting so big. We went to the doctor today, and he weighed 21 lbs. 14oz. He had bronchiolitis in April, and now we are fighting secondary infections from that. He is on his second round of antibiotics, and we are still doing the breathing treatments. Grayson has four teeth, and two more on the way. He loves to stand-up all the time. He has no interest in crawling because he cannot stand to be on his stomach. He has also started eating table food, and he loves it!Other than that nothing much going on. Patrick and I are going to Chicago for our anniversary trip in two weeks. Here is a list of some of Grayson's favorite things:

4 Month Check-Up

Grayson went for his 4 month check-up on January 14th. He weighed 15lbs. 12oz. (75th percentile), 25 1/2 inches long (75th percentile), and head circumfence was 42 (50th percentile). I can't believe how much he has caught up since he had his surgery. He used to be in the 10th percentile for everything when he was sick. Grayson is now talking, grabbing on to things, and rolling over to his back and he can roll back over to his stomach. He had to start eating food at three months since he was not getting satisfied off of just his milk. He has also starting sleeping through the night most of the time, and he likes to sleep on his side. Sometimes, he will wake up for a 3AM feeding, but not all the time. He is just the most precious thing, and his smile lights up his whole face. We had his christening on December
23rd, but I do not have any pictures to post off of the computer I am on.

Morgan (my sister) got put in the hospital last night to induce labor. She has not progressed any, and she is still at 1 centimeter. They are breaking her water and giving her petossin this morning. I will post pictures after she arrives.

Grayson is finally home from the hospital for good! He had surgery on Thursday to correct his pyloric muscle. He is a different baby since the surgery. He keeps his food down, and he actually sleeps now. He is also a lot more alert, and he likes to have playtime now. He just went for his check-up today, and the doctor was pleased with his weight gain ( 9 lbs. 12 oz.). He also got his shots today, and he has not been fussy at all. I am sure the shots were nothing to him considering what he has been through. I am finally getting to post something. We have been in and out of the hospital with Grayson, and I think we might finally be home for good. He is keeping his food down that he is getting from the feeding tube, and he is also getting a 1/2 ounce bottle with rice cereal every three hours. I think after this is over I could probably be a nurse! It is tiring, but you do what you have to. Here is what our life is like everday.
1. Check the placement of Grayson's nasogastric tube 3 times a day.
2. Give him his Prevacid twice a day.
3. Give him his eye medicine twice a day.
4. Change out bag for pump once a day.
5. Refill the bag of milk every 4 hours.
6. Stop pump every three hours for 30 minutes, and feed him a 1/2 ounce bottle.
7. Retape nasogastric tube if it needs it.
8. Flush out tube after every feeding.
9. Unclog tube with Dr. Pepper if it gets stopped up (usually once a day).
10. Keep track of wet and dirty diapers.
11. Keep track of spit ups.
12. Give him Mylicon all the time. He is so gassy since he just switched to formula.
13. Keep him elevated at all times, and after having a bottle keep him sitting up
for 30 to 45 minutes.
14. Change his wet diapers constantly since he is being fed 24/7 by the tube and
pump.
The other little time I have left is spent holding his pacifier in his mouth. He became addicted to Sweet-Ease (sugar water) when he was in the hospital ,and wasn't allowed to eat for days at a time. We have to dip his pacifier in the water, and this seems to keep him satisified when he is without his bottle all the time. However, he will only suck on the pacifier if you keep your finger in the hole of the nipple. He is so spoiled! Somewhere in between this Patrick and I have to find time to feed and shower ourselves. It is a lot to take care of, but we are fortunate enough to have great family and friends that have been helping out. Without them I would probably be suffering from postpartum depression or be in a mental institution. Thanks so much to the following people:
1. My husband for staying up some nights even thought he has to go to work
everyday. He also lets me take a nap when he gets home from work, and he is such
a great father to Grayson.
2. My mom and dad for driving back and forth from Meridian all the time to let us
have some rest, cleaning the house, and providing lunch and dinners.
3. Father-in-law for coming over during his lunch hour to let me eat, take a shower,
or nap.
4. Mother-in-law for staying some nights to let me get a good night sleep, and for
coming over after she gets off work to let me run errands or just help out around
the house.
5. Morgan and Matt for coming over to "babysit" and just hang out so I can have
grown up conversation.
6. Christi (godmother) for "babysitting" so I could clean my house for the shower I
hosted this weekend at my house ( I was crazy for volunteering my house when I
knew I would have a newborn). She also has been so great just coming by after
work and on the weekends to help out with anything.
7. Everyone else thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Grayson finally came home from the NICU on Tuesday. He is doing great! He now weighs a little over 7 lbs., and he has his first check-up tomorrow. Also, Patrick and I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers while Grayson was in the hospital. Thanks to everyone for the food they brought over too.

Haley and I were in Meridian this past weekend for a baby shower. On the way back home, Haley had to use the restroom. So we stopped at the rest area around the Morton area. We pulled up to notice a large group of people under one of the pavilions. I didn't think anything about....Haley didn't think anything about it.... As soon as Haley went into restroom a woman and a younger woman came out. They both proceeded to the large group of people. Haley came out, she got in the car and I backed up to leave. Haley goes "What are all those people doing under that pavi....OH MY GOSH!!!!! IT IS A WEDDING....." Yes a wedding. The lady that came out of the restroom was the BRIDE and these people were getting MARRIED at the REST STOP!!! Only in Mississippi. Wish we had our camera to share the special moment.

Well, I went into pre-term labor last Thursday. I was sent to the hospital, and they stopped they labor. Now I am on bed rest until Grayson arrives, and I am very bored. I feel great besides the fact that I can't sleep because I have to take medicine every four hours. They are trying to keep him in for another 4 weeks if possible. I went to the doctor yesterday, and I am 2cm dilated, so they told me to keep lying in the bed.

BABY DAVIS FINALLY HAS A NAME!
Grayson Rhodes Davis is our little boy's name. The doctor said they will probably induce me early because he is so big! Also, the high blood pressure and gestational diabetes does not help either. However, I do feel great! I am attaching some pics from our 3D sonogram and also a picture of Grayson's door announcement for the hospital. The announcement is still missing his picture, footprints, etc. since he is not here yet.

It was a tough loss last night against West Virginia. I think that our Dawgs did a great job this season. We were supposedly picked second to last in the West, with Ole Miss being the worst team. Both Mississippi schools did one heck of a job this season, both going to post season play. Ole Miss winning in the first round of the NIT but couldn't get it done against Clemson in the second. On the other hand, The DAWGS had a great second half of the season. They had victories against LSU (both at home and away), Arkansas, Vandy, Bama, Kentucky, and Florida State. We had a strong showing at the SEC Tourney and the NIT. Made it all the way to the semi's in the NIT, but only getting beat on a 3 pointer with 2.1 seconds to go in the game. It was heartbreaking to watch, it was heartbreaking to see our players faces. Not going to blame anyone, (cough) coach (cough), but it was disappointing to see our players at every time-out just stand there in a huddle, in silence, no direction to go ...... When you have the West Virginia coach with his team close in, making plays and giving them an plan of attack. Especially with 2.1 seconds to go............................................ Stan, you are a GREAT recruiter.

Oh well, hopefully it will make our boys hungry for next season. As of right now, Jamont and Charles are coming back. Charles will be a senior and Jamont will be a Junior. Should be interesting. But, we are losing The Man ...... Dietric Slater. Dietric had an awesome HALF season. The HALF meaning that Dietric had to sit out until the first of January because of disciplinary actions............ (cough) pot (cough) ........... But he made the second half of the season worth wild. With a broken hand, stitches under the eye, bad back, and supposedly hurt foot still averaged 8 points a game with 6.4 rebounds. We will miss Die-tric Sla-ter!

Oh, I forgot about Southern Miss . I think they played Tulane twice, got beat both times and they also got beat by Rice. There biggest win came against the Auburn Tigers. The C-USA is hurting with Louisville and Cinny leaving. Way to go Southern on a 22-11 season.

I WILL HAVE PICTURES OF OUR NEW HOUSE ASAP..... I WILL PROBABLY BE GOING OUT THERE IN THE MORNING TO TAKE A FEW SNAP SHOTS. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CLOSING TOMORROW. I DON'T THINK IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN THOUGH...... MY UNDERWRITING DEPARTMENT GOT BACKED UP WITH THE CRAZY SUBPRIME MARKET. WE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH SUBPRIME ................ BUT IT BACKED THEM UP BAD.

ANYWAY, HALEY IS STILL HAVING MORNING SICKNESS THAT LAST ALL DAY. SO, SHE IS CONFUSED ON WHERE "MORNING SICKNESS" CAME FROM..... TO SAY THE LEAST SHE IS UPSET. I THINK SHE IS GETTING BETTER THOUGH. I WILL TAKE CARE OF HER THROUGH AND THROUGH. SHE GETS PRETTIER BY THE DAY. SHE IS A GOOD WIFE AND I KNOW THAT SHE WILL BE A GREAT MOTHER.
